Curious guy puts camera inside dishwasher to see how it actually works
I gotta be honest...I had no clue how the dishes always came out so clean!

We have gone so far and advanced with technology that almost everything can already be done by a machine or Artificial Intelligence (AI). From automatic vacuum cleaners to coffee makers, and your electricity or lights at home which can all be controlled by a smart device.

In fact, geniuses all over the world are trying to make life easier by coming up with a machine that can do the simplest up to the most difficult house chore at home. One of the most amazing inventions to have been ever made was probably dishwashers.

I mean, who would possibly like to wash the dishes after a good meal when you are stuffed and all you want to do is relax?

A little bit of history.

Do you know that the first-ever mechanical dishwashing device was registered for a patient in the United States by Joel Houghton back in 1850? However, the said dishwashing device was just made of wood and was cranked by hand while sprayed onto dishes. It was also slow and unreliable that’s why evolution took place on dishwashers and we now have them today which are, by far, reliable and energy-efficient.

But have you ever wondered about what exactly happens inside a dishwasher? How do those messy plates become shiny and clean? How does it look while it’s in action? All these questions probably popped up in this man’s head, so he decided to unravel the secrets inside a dishwasher.

In a YouTube channel called ‘Warped Perception‘, Matt Mikka showed everyone how a dishwasher works on the inside by installing a GoPro and a 360 camera in it.

Matt even bought a brand-new dishwasher, mounted the cameras inside, and of course, put some messy plates inside.

He’s quite serious with his experiment and it didn’t disappoint because his video amassed over 5 million views since being uploaded in April of last year. Off he went by putting some dirty dishes inside to expose the dishwasher’s technology inside.

“For those of you who are curious about the inside of the dishwasher and how a dishwasher works inside and does its job then this video is for you,” he wrote in the video’s description. “Mostly I was really curious about how the dish soap gets dispensed which I haven’t ever seen on video before.”

Turns out that a dishwasher has a systemized process that is divided into multiple stages like the start cycle, filling, wetting, rinsing, drain & fill, wash cycle, dispensing soap, high-pressure wash, heating, drain & fill, rinsing, heating & sanitizing, and final rinse & drain.

There’s no wonder why this type of machine works really effectively. Although, there would be challenges in removing tough stains like oil and other greasy stubborn stains.

One of his viewers even noted the evolution of dishwashers and why some choose not to use them, “I didn’t grow up with one and my mom made it seem like she didn’t believe it was effective as hand washing. It didn’t help that even when I visited people who did have them they chose not to use them. I realized later that it’s a cultural thing. In my late 20s, I finally moved into my own apartment with a new dishwasher and I absolutely love it. I don’t have enough dishes to overfill it so I’ve never had my dishes not come out spotless. I’m sure 15-20 years ago they weren’t as efficient.”
