If you find yourself complaining about not having enough space – you might re-evaluate how you live after seeing how this family of six lives full-time in an RV. And they do it in style!

The Harger family, Heather, Jordan, and their four children say they’re “a crazy and ordinary radical family of six” on their website NoMuck.com.

In the video tour of their home below, they tell us that Jordan is a firefighter and paramedic, while Heather has experience with teaching, coaching, and public school administration. The family decided to have a drastic change in lifestyle and move from their suburban home near Disney World to an RV, thousands of miles away, in South Africa. They have now dedicated their lives to spreading the gospel.

“I have a deep desire to serve others in my life,” Jordan says in the video below. “Our family is willing to serve in any capacity God needs us.”

Due to their visa in South Africa, they are restricted from earning income – so, they knew they would have to live a minimalist lifestyle.

The Hargers found a Cedar Creek Silverback RV and knew it was the perfect answer for their family. In the home tour video, Heather walks us through their comfortable 3-room living space that also doubles as a home-school for their children between the ages of 4 and 11.

Walking up to the RV, the family has set up a patio area with a picnic table and lounge chairs.

Heather explains that the table is multi-purpose – the family uses it to eat meals but it also serves as a workspace for the kids to do schoolwork and crafts.

Stepping into the RV, personal touches such as the colorful paint job and light fixtures bring a lot of personality into the space.

The Hargers chose to decorate their home using bright colors and fun patterns. Curtains and artwork add an extra element of coziness in the family’s home on wheels.

“I just tried to make it really fun and lively. I tried to be more daring than I would be in my normal home,” says Heather.

The living area is small but the impressive width of the trailer provides just enough space.

“I home-school our children and I was really worried how I was going to fit all their home-school things in here, and it all fits great,” says Heather. “And actually, I’m really enjoying being a minimalist with that.”

To provide even more work and art space, Heather converted the kitchen table into a “creative corner”.

The ‘creative corner’ includes seats for seven people and its surface can be used as a desk.

The kitchen is simple but has everything the family needs including a pantry, double sink, fridge, stove, oven, and ample counter space.

Heather goes on to explain that her family tries to be as “green” as they possibly can, so they do not use their microwave for cooking. Instead, they’ve turned the microwave into extra storage space.

The counter has a leaf that can be raised to create even more surface area and there are also a couple of stools to allow for additional seating for their big family.

Moving away from the kitchen, Heather walks us to the center of the RV to show us the kids’ bedroom and sleeping area.

The two girls, Esther and Phoebe, share one bunk bed set up while the boys, Silas and Asher, share another.

“This is truly a two-bedroom for kids,” says Heather.

The family’s bathroom is painted with bright colors like purple and green.

The bathroom features a sink with a cupboard below and medicine cabinet above. There is also a shower with enough room to place a baby tub inside when they need to.

Finally, in the back of the RV is the colorful and welcoming master bedroom.

The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and has lots of drawers and closet space for storage. The mirrored doors of the closet help make the space feel larger than it really is.

So, you see? Even a family of six doesn’t need a big house to live happily and comfortably.
