Divorce isn’t an easy process. It will drain you physically, mentally, and emotionally. It can also leave you in deep financial trouble.

Michelle Boyle considers her life a series of unfortunate events after getting divorced twice.

In both marriages, she was able to build two houses. However, because of the cost of her divorces, she lost both of them.

Despite what she’s been through, Michelle remained strong.

She fought depression and created a home no one could take away from her. As a self-trained builder, she thought she could easily build one- and she did!

She decided to build a tiny house.

Living paycheck to paycheck, Michelle had to find ways to fund her new project. She had no retirement plan. She didn’t have any savings, too.

Fortunately, with sponsorship, some cash, and help from a few contractors, she was able to build her new home. Measuring 24 feet long and 8 1/2 feet wide, it’s indeed a tiny house.

Despite the small size, Michelle’s new home is beautiful.

It has everything she needs to live a comfortable life. She’s got an awesome kitchen with a tall refrigerator, stove sink, and drawer space. It even has a nice countertop space. With all those features, it’s not surprising why it’s her favorite spot in her home.

Michelle shared:

“My favorite room in my tiny house is my kitchen. I think a lot of people sacrifice in their kitchen when they build a tiny house but I wanted to show everybody that you can have a really cool and stylish kitchen.”

Michelle’s tiny house has a cozy living room, too.

Of course, like the other parts of her home, it’s small. However, despite its size, it still looks comfortable. Her visitors can hang out in the area without feeling like the walls are closing in on them.

In her living room, there’s a staircase that leads to her bedroom.

Like in most tiny homes, Michelle’s bed is in one of the lofts. Even though she can’t stand upright next to her bed, it’s not an issue. She can still sit on it without hitting her head. Across her bedroom is another loft. To get there, she uses a ladder.

Her bathroom looks quite nice as well.

It has a shower and compost toilet. It also has a nice sink and enough space to comfortably get dressed.

Right next to it is Michelle’s mini walk-in closet. It’s a feature you don’t get to see in most tiny homes. This just proves that the lady spent a lot of time designing her home and planning every part of it.

Michelle didn’t stop with just one tiny home.

She actually decided to build a few more tiny houses. She’s planning to rent them out as a form of income. It’s a great idea considering the number of people who can’t afford to rent a house and pay their mortgages. While securing her retirement, she’ll be able to help others along the way.
