Young guy moves into a houseboat full time because it’s cheap and he can save more money
It made the most sense for him to save money and live simply.

Joe Lovejoy has been in the navy for more than five years. Since life onboard was actually his career, he knew a lot about it, but he had no idea what it feels like to live on a small boat.

At some point, the young man started considering living in a smaller place than a proper house. He had started comparing van life to camper life and boar life, and after some serious thought, he knew boat life would be the best for him.

As he explains, he thought that van life would be great, too, but since he had to drive to work every day, he didn’t have to move his house.

And, of course, working in the navy, it sounded like a good idea to live in a boat.

Although he didn’t know much about how small boats work, he knew the basic stuff thanks to his navy training.

Luckily, he had friends who helped him become an expert when it comes to boat living and small boat sailing.

Joe named his boat “Theotoko”, which comes from Greek and means “the one who carried Jesus”.

“I’m also very fortunate to have had her blessed by a close friend of mine who is a Catholic priest, so she’s officially a holy boat,” he said in an interview.

Although the boat is quite small, it certainly has enough room for Joe and his friends and family, when they come to visit.

The living room is quite big, featuring a large couch, where he and his guests can sit and have breakfast, coffee, or spend the night playing board games.

The kitchen is also comfortable with some storage room, too. The most important thing in the kitchen, according to Joe, is the fridge, which has a good size.

There are also a couple of cupboards where he can put anything he needs like dried food and similar stuff.

There’s also a sink, a stove and he’s also got an air fryer, which he considers his best purchase.

Moving on to the bedrooms, the boat has one “big” bedroom, where Joe sleeps, but also where his parents sleep when they visit.

Both the “master bedroom” and the second one are down in the water so it’s great during hot months because this works like natural air-conditioning.

The second, smaller, bedroom is where Joe loves to take his afternoon nap. It’s also where he stores anything from beach stuff to his guitar.

There’s more storage room in there than one can imagine, since the cushions can be lifted up and he can store stuff inside the bed.

There’s also a bathroom which has everything one could need, from a toilet to a bathtub.

Finally, Joe takes viewers to the deck, which he compares to a backyard of a classic house.

There he has some chairs and a grill, which are enough when he has friends over and they spend the night together.

Joe just loves his boat and his life has definitely changed for the better since he moved there, and we can really see why.
