When it comes to self-care, health, make-up, and body positivity, one of the top influencers to check out is Dominique Sachse.

She has been a news anchor for KPRC 2 for 28 years but decided it was time to retire just last week. Aside from her legacy as a news anchor, she is also an encourager, influencer, and vlogger.

At 54, she looks absolutely stunning.

Her skin is radiant, and she takes good care of her body, and of course, she watches what she eats. No wonder her YouTube channel alone has 1.55M subscribers.

Three years ago, Dominique posted a video where she shared her top 10 make-up secrets to looking youthful. But before explaining and showing her tips, she first explained why skincare is important.

You can use the most expensive make-up, but if you don’t take care of your skin, it won’t give you what you are trying to achieve.

We all age, and that is something that we should accept wholeheartedly. Genes, diet, health, even stress can play major roles in how we age. Some can already have dry and wrinkled skin in their 40s, while some still look very youthful even if they are already in their 50s.

That’s the reason why Dominique shares her ideas, not only with make-up tricks but also health, diet, and even skincare. She also explained that it’s better to go lighter on our make-up as we age.

As we go further with each tip, you’ll understand why.

Go for a light foundation, BB, or CC cream

If you want to look younger, aim for that dewy, glowy skin. Again, skincare plays a vital role here.

If your skin is moisturized, then you will only need minimal coverage. Dominique suggests using BB or CC cream o cut the amount of foundation you are using.

Hide your under-eye circles with eyelid primer

We don’t want any redness showing in your eyelids. That’s why Dominique suggests using eyelid primer.

This will also serve as a good base for your eye shadow.

Highlight cheekbones if you want a lift or use a bronzer if you want to hide

Highlight and contour. This can emphasize your cheekbones and get that lift. You can also use it if you want to show a more defined jawline.

As a pro-tip, start on your forehead going down your cheeks, then your jaw. It’s like writing the number 3.

Use light dusting powder

Use a light or translucent powder to tone down the shine from your bb cream or foundation.

With a light hand, just use very little powder and use a brush. We don’t want to have a cakey build-up of powder.

Fill in brows and make it look natural

As we get older, our eyebrows get thinner.

That’s what we want to fill, but be careful not to overdo it. Again, aim for a minimalist look. Fill your brows just enough for them to look natural and youthful.

Choose light natural eye-shadows

For eye shadow, go for neutral shades.

These shades look natural and when applying, use a light hand technique. We don’t want it to be overly dramatic.

Tight line your upper lid and apply mascara on the upper lid only

Using your favorite eyeliner tight line your lids.

It opens up your eyes but doesn’t give you that super dark make-up look. Finish it off by applying your favorite mascara.

Lightly use a brush to apply blush to your cheekbones

A blush should only be applied very thinly on your cheekbones. Don’t put too much especially on the apples of your cheek.

We want that subtle youthful blush.

Use a lip liner to keep your lipstick in

Your lip liner is your best friend. Choose a color closest to your lipstick. It prevents your lipstick from bleeding. It also helps you shape your lips.

Choose a light-colored lipstick that matches your lip liner

For the last part, choose light-colored lipsticks. This will complete your natural no-makeup look.

Dominique’s final look is gorgeous!

She did look 10 years younger and what we love about the makeup tutorial was easily explained, you don’t need to buy new makeup, and you’re basically cutting your makeup time in half.
