The holidays are upon us. Hooray!
And that means it’s time to decorate and get ready to welcome our friends and family into our homes to celebrate.
But when it comes to merrymaking, it’s the little festive touches that truly fill us with the holiday spirit.
It’s the centerpieces, the color coordination, the food items cut or molded into festive shapes that really give our home parties that elevated holiday feel.
Making it special can be so simple.

One way to spruce up your tablescapes for the holidays is to fold your napkins into festive shapes.
It’s an inexpensive way to give your party an expensive look.
BasteLn mit Papier’s YouTube channel gives us three different ways to fold napkins for Christmas.
These are the cutest.

One looks like a Christmas tree!
First, you’ll take four square napkins and place them on top of one another or take a large square napkin and fold it into four smaller squares.
Fold the corner of the first napkin toward the opposite corner leaving about one inch.

Repeat this with the other napkins.
Place your hand on top of your folds to keep them secure while you flip your napkins over so your folds are against your table.
Fold the left side of your napkins toward the middle and do the same with the right side so they touch in the middle.

Flip the napkins over again.
The top part should be straight and flat with the napkin points facing down.
Fold each of your downward points upward, folding the point into the bottom of the pocket above it. When you’re done, it should look like an adorable Christmas tree.
Next up is an elf slipper.

Fold a square napkin in half
You want it to look like a rectangle. Then fold it over again so it’s a skinny rectangle.
Take the left half of your napkin and fold it downward. Do the same with the right side so they touch in the middle and make a point on top.

Fold both sides inward again so they touch making your napkin look like a paper airplane.
Next, fold your right flap upward and over. Do it a second time.
Wrap your dangling part around and tuck it into the pocket toward the point of your napkin.
You should be left with something that looks like an elf’s boot or a stocking.
Bonus tip: it holds candy.

A silverware snuggie.
For the last napkin, tutorial fold your napkin in half then take half of one half and fold it downward.
Flip your napkin over and fold your napkin in half again and then again. This will create a pocket that you can fit your utensils in.

“Three beautiful napkins. The elf slipper looks too complicated and too much work for me, but you did a nice job in showing us how to do it,” wrote a commenter on YouTuber on a video that was viewed more than 1.4 million times.
