Deb and Peter now live away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. They sold their first house which was giving them unwanted stress. The couple still live near the city but wait until you see their new place.

The couple’s new tiny house rests in the same property where Peter’s parents live.

”We wanted to be on here to sort of help my mum and dad out because my mum felt terminally ill with cancer, so for us, it was just great to be able to be close…” Peter said.

Deb and Peter’s four-year-old daughter Mackenzie can still walk to daycare while enjoying the country vibe.

Measuring 29.5 x 9.8 ft., the house features added lounging and dining space should they need to entertain guests.

A big bi-fold door separates the outdoor and indoor area. The kitchen uses the same kind of door to connect it to the deck. The doors give the home a seamless flow.

There is an abundance of windows giving the home natural lighting while providing them with a lovely view.

The couch stores clothes, toiletries, and everyday essentials underneath. A mini gallery dedicated to Mackenzie’s artworks can be found just opposite the couch, displayed proudly by mom and dad.

The spacious kitchen takes up a third of the home’s space.

There’s plenty of counter space and prep area since they spend a lot of time in the kitchen. There’s a small dining table should they choose to eat indoors.

The bathroom is quite spacious with a 3.3 x 3.3 ft. shower area and huge cabinets for laundry essentials.

A small door separates the bedroom lofts. Mackenzie’s bedroom has been soundproofed to eliminate outside noise.

Deb and Peter’s daughter filled her room with color, books, and toys. Mackenzie’s room features wallpaper with a floral pattern while her small bed is nestled right beside the loft’s windows.

It’s a tiny house but the family of three have adapted well to their new lifestyle.

Deb, Peter, and Mackenzie feel like their lives have way more value now. They get to spend more time with each other because of the smaller space. Peter can walk to see his dad allowing him to help his father with errands while providing emotional support.

Deb works once a week to cover rent.

“Tiny house living has taught me that less is more,” Peter declared.

The couple is free from their once sizable mortgage. Deb and Peter’s decision allowed them to adjust easily when the pandemic hit. There is less clutter, less chores, and way more time to be together.

Living in a much smaller home has made the couple realize that there’s so much stuff they don’t really need. The family now live with what they only need, reducing time spent on rummaging through junk.
