Not sure if I could do this but they really did make the inside beautiful.

Denver and Vanessa are parents that decided to do, what many people would say is the unimaginable, and move their family of five into a school bus converted into an RV/tiny home. Denver and Vanessa live in their “school bus house” with three boys under the age of five. Many people have converted to the tiny house lifestyle, but it is usually only one person or a couple, not an entire family of five.

Check out this tour and be amazed with how spacious they have made their tiny family home.

Denver and Vanessa bought a school bus with the intention of turning into a tiny home when they had two children and Vanessa was pregnant with another boy. The school bus holds 250 square feet, but Denver stands at 6 feet tall, so they raised the roof by 20 inches for comfort. Vanessa would help work on the bus, while holding her new baby too.

It took two years for the Millers to complete the school bus transformation.

Denver and Vanessa chose an L-shaped couch for their living room. It was important they chose leather instead of fabric couches, because life on the road with three boys can get very messy. The couch faces the front of the bus, where a TV with surround sound throughout the bus is located. There is also a table that can be put in place, so it can turn into their dining room as well.

The seats come with storage underneath and seat belts and car seats for the children to use while driving.

Vanessa uses the kitchen quite often for the family, so they had to complete a remodel to give her more space.

Vanessa now has a full size RV refrigerator, oven, a single sink, and a lot more counter space. The empty wall in their kitchen space also has a multipurpose bar that can be raised. Denver, who works remotely, uses it has his work space at times. Vanessa uses it for more counter space in the kitchen if she needs it.

It might have started as a school bus but with Denver and Vanessa’s interior design it looks like a cozy home in every room. How do three boys, all under the age of five, like living in a bus? They love it.

“I consider myself lucky to have boys and I think it’s easier for me; kids are wild regardless. So, I feel like the boys tend to just play outside a lot,” Vanessa explains, “If we talk about houses or anything like that, they’re like no we want to live in a bus.”

When it comes to the boys living situation in the bus, they have their own room with bunk beds. Vanessa and Denver included doors for their room to make it feel more like their own space. They each have three 6 foot beds, as if they are living in a rock band’s tour bus. The highest is for their oldest, middle is for their middle son, and the bottom bunk if for the baby.

The bathroom separates the boys room from their parents. One side of the bus has the bathroom and sink, while the other side of the bus has a full shower.

The back of the bus holds the master bedroom for Denver and Vanessa.

Denver and Vanessa chose a murphy bed so they can use their master bedroom as a classroom too. The bottom of their bed is actually a chalkboard. Vanessa home school’s all the boys, since they are living on the road. She can use the chalkboard with the small stools and table for the children for class time.
