You’ll be amazed at how easy this cleaning combo is.

Cleaning the house can be tedious, especially when it comes to places with a lot of nooks and crannies.

Houses with lavish and cozy wood interiors will most likely have baseboards. Not only that, but you also have your pieces of furniture and other surfaces.

Thankfully, there’s help.

These places are notorious for collecting dust. And the annoying part about that is they just keep on coming.

This cleaning technique knocks them out.

And the best part about this technique is that it uses what you already have in your cleaning storage.

This is best for dusty corners up in your ceiling, sliding door and window tracks, and baseboards.

All you need is a bucket, warm water, a broom, a piece of cloth, and your favorite fabric conditioner. Yes, it’s that simple.

First, prepare your cleaning substance.

Fill your bucket with warm water. Then, put a splash or two of the fabric conditioner. You can use whichever brand you like just as long as it’s easily soluble in water.

Just when you thought fabric conditioners are only for laundry, you’d be pleased to know that you can use them for other things.

Next, prepare your scrubbing equipment.

Soak the cloth into the mix of fabric conditioner and water. Squeeze off the excess water. Then, wrap the cloth around the brush of your broom.

You can use old shirts for this one for easier wrapping.

Then, secure the ends, especially on the rod, with a rubber band.

These are waterproof and easy to use.

Also, with the help of the broom, you won’t need to bend down to reach the boards and the vents, and you won’t need a chair just to get to those hard-to-reach areas.

Then, you can start scrubbing off those pesky dust trails.

Press your cloth firmly against the surface you want to clean and wipe it along the length of the board. You can instantly see the difference and how much dust it gets.

The video even showed the close-up of the baseboards just so you’d see the effect of this simple yet genius cleaning hack.

You can also use it on floor-to-wall corners, furniture surfaces, and when cleaning your vent grates.

So can this really repel dust?

The science is not as exact but if we focus on what fabric softeners do to our clothes, we can take our conclusions from there.

Fabric softeners reduce what we call “static cling”. Do you know that itchy feeling of your clothes after you washed, rinsed, and tumbled dry them?

It’s the fibers clinging to your skin because of static electricity.

TVs and other electronic appliances can gather dust quickly because they are electrically charged. Same with surfaces that the air flows over every time.

Dust clings to the surfaces like how your clothes do.

This simple hack hits two birds with one stone.

You can get rid of dust and make your surfaces dust-free while also keeping your place smelling fresh and clean.
