A teacher’s tip gets nearly 6M views.

There is no doubt teachers come up with some epic organization hacks.

Through their day-to-day interactions with students, teachers know pretty quickly what works and what needs improvement.

Kindergarten teacher, Theresa Besenhofer, recently shared a clever idea on TikTok that has since become an ‘aha moment’ for so many.

Theresa is a marker storage boss.

One can only imagine the chaos that ensues in a classroom setting when the markers come out.

Caps are bound to go missing resulting in dried-up school supplies, disappointed students, and frustrated teachers. Not anymore!

Mrs. Besenhofer has a trick to keep all those markers and caps from getting lost. Make a mental note of this genius hack.

Tape and label the markers.

Teaching a classroom full of kids requires a little bit of ingenuity.

In her TikTok video, Theresa encourages others to create more organization by taping sets of markers together.

She captions her video, “Keep your sanity. Tape the markers.” In the video, Theresa is heard saying, “Things in my kindergarten classroom that just make sense.”

You’re right Theresa…this makes so much sense that many of us are wondering why we didn’t think it earlier.

“You tape the markers together, and then I put a piece of tape on top to cover the lids,” Teresa explains in her viral TikTok video.

Theresa uses duct tape to make sure the markers are very secure. Teachers could get creative with what color duct tape to use, too.

Each set of markers is labeled.

Theresa explains that she now labels each set of markers with a different student’s name.

“This year, I’m writing names on them, because kids would inevitably lose their markers, and no one would want to claim them. So now we’ll know whose it is.” – Theresa said in her viral TikTok video.

Teachers and parents cheer for Theresa.

Theresa was blown away by how popular her video became and how many times it was viewed. It has now been viewed nearly 6 million times.

She received feedback from some very appreciative teachers and some who saw the additional benefits of taping the markers together.

One person wrote, “omg this also keeps them from stacking them. I’m about to do this.”

Theresa responded saying that she hadn’t even thought of that. We aren’t sure that young learners out there will be in support of that new revelation.

No more lost caps.

While some commenters were quick to point out that markers can still go missing even with the new storage hack, Theresa responded to say it is usually the caps that go missing.

Missing caps mean dried-up markers and no one likes that, right? Nope.

This smart idea is perfect for anyone who wants to add a little organization to their home. You don’t have to be a teacher to try this out. What are you waiting for?!
